Year 2/KS1 Teacher for small village school - 1 term post initially Our client school is located in Bromley, Kent which is about 25 mins train ride south from London Bridge station. Trains also travel from Waterloo East, Charing Cross and Victoria. If you were to live in southern areas or central London it is very accessible. Or you could choose to live in Kent.

The position would be primarily teaching the Year 2 class, which has 12 children, but requires flexibility across Key Stage 1 as you would also be teaching/working with the Year 1 and Reception class children (approx 25 kids across the KS1) in a team teaching setting with another teacher, and a teaching assistant. You would be involved in team planning for this also, and they offer some nice incentives such as an entire day off once a fortnight for PPA time.

The position is for one term initially as it is for maternity cover starting for the Winter Term (January 2010) but has could possibly carry over longer. We are seeking someone who is flexible and experienced with key Stage 1 (year 1, 2, 3 equivalents in Australia). They are after a high quality teacher who can embrace the almost family type ethos of a small school setting and take into account any of the sensitive natures of such children. They take a ‘common sense’ approach to discipline and use a lot of open communication. There are some students in the school who fall onto the vulnerable list and you need to have an awareness of the autistic spectrum for this.
